About Us

Hi! My name is Larissa and I am the mastermind behind Bluebirds Chocolate. I am a chocolatier, recipe developer and confectionary maker. I am a wife, mom to one fantastic little boy and nature lover. 

I have always loved baking and can remember baking chocolate chip cookies for my own cookie & lemonade stand! Even though I went to school for Criminology I really think I should have gone to Pastry School instead. My love of cooking, baking and trying out new recipes continued through college and into married life.

​Before I had my son I would always make delicious candy and treats during the holidays for family and friends. I remember one year having a friend give back the tin their treats came in asking for a refill!

​I got to the point where I had friends, family and colleagues asking to purchase the items I made. At that point I knew I wanted to open a small cottage business to sell my chocolates, caramels, marshmallows and other treats.

​When 2020 hit and I ended up working from home full time I decided that there is no better time than now to go for it and follow my dreams. I have such a strong passion for my chocolate work and candy. I love the joy that it brings to my customers!

The name Bluebirds Chocolate came to be one late night over text with my mom. As a young child I have always loved little birds and Bluebirds in general hold a special place in my heart. My logo was designed for me by an amazing small business friend and the three birds represent myself, my husband and my son. I have even had my son say that he would like to continue the family business name when he is an adult.
